The Summer started off with 5 days of Fun! Thousands turned out for one of the areas funnest events. There was something for all ages at Friendly City Days. For the sports fanatic there was Softball and Volleyball tournaments. There was a 5K run and new this year a Bed Race. There was live music featuring Country, Blues, Bluegrass, and Old Time. There was a Carnival, Games for the kids, a Parade and of course Fireworks. Food was plentiful featuring Porkchops, Corn on the cob, Pasta and all that great Fair food. Other than a little rough weather it was a great weekend to enjoy and meet your neighbors before your busy summer.

Midwest rides brought over 30 carnival rides and games, there was entertainment for the kids, a pedal tractor pull, a toddler town activity area, face painting, rootbeer floats with the canidates, bingo, clowns and the KRWC radio fun show.

The city employees and councils battled it out in softball with St.Michael coming out on top of Albertville 10 to 4. The 24 team Mens Slowpitch Softball Tournament featured the some of the state's top teams. Mens, Womens, and Mixed Volleyball Tournament featured the areas top teams. A Firemens Waterball Fight featured area fire departments from Albertville, St. Michael, and Hanover. A Bed Race with real beds was a big hit. The 5k run attracted over 120 participants of all ages

There was Fireworks, a Porkchop Dinner, Corn on the Cob, a Pasta Dinner, plenty of Foodstands, Live Country, Blues, Bluegrass and Oldtime Music

The Wellness van was on hand for medical screening, there was a Kids ID station, K-9 Demostation, Safety Smoke House, and Fire Truck Demonstration.
