How about 5 days of Fun! Thousands of people will gather, in Albertville, June 5-9th to enjoy one of the areas funnest events. There will be something for all ages at Friendly City Days. For the sports fanatic there is Softball, Volleyball, Hockey, and a 5K Run. There will be live music featuring Country, Rock n Roll, and Old Time. There will be a Carnival, Activities for the kids, a Parade, and of course Fireworks. No great weekend is complete without Food. There will plenty to choose from including all that great Fair food. Friendly City Days is a great way to start the Summer. Albertville is a great place to meet your neighbor and reunite with old friends. Midwest rides will bring in over 30 Carnival rides and games starting Thursday afternoon. Saturday will be filled with entertainment for the kids. Some of the kids activities will include a Kiddie Parade, a Pedal Tractor Pull, Face painting, Rootbeer floats with the Queen candidates, a kids entertainer, and the KRWC Radio Fun show. Be sure to attend the Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday at 10 a.m. at City Hall. New this year, the 3rd Lair Skate Park will be performing skateboard stunt demonstrations at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with free skateboarding lessons for the kids in between.
The cities of Albertville and St. Michael will compete in a relay at 5:00 p.m. Friday night. New this year, a bean bag tournament will take place near the softball fields on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. All weekend there will be a 22 team Mens Slowpitch Softball Tournament featuring some of the state's top teams. There will also be Co-Ed, Mens, and Womens Volleyball Tournaments featuring the areas top teams. If you like it cool, there will be a 4 on 4 hockey tournament. Saturday the annual 5k run will attract over 250 participants of all ages.
There will be Fireworks, a Porkchop Dinner, Corn on the Cob, a Spaghetti Dinner, and plenty of Foodstands. Friday evening there will be live music featuring Big Back Yard starting at 7 p.m., followed by 32 Below on the main stage at 9 p.m. Saturday, there will be live music at 7 p.m. with Farmer's Daughter, followed by Outside Recess on the main stage at 9:30 p.m.
Saturday the Fire Department will host an open house featuring their entire department on display along with plenty of activities for the whole family.
